Gloss Interiors were commissioned to create a distinctive and welcoming interior for La Fontana Italian Restaurant, situated within a beautiful former bank in the heart of Leicester city centre.

The design was centred around celebrating the building’s architectural heritage, carefully balancing its grand period features with a contemporary, stylish and inviting restaurant environment. Inspired by the warmth, vibrancy and timeless elegance of Italian hospitality, the design introduces a subtle Mediterranean influence through a rich, considered colour palette of deep greens, warm ochres and tan leather tones. These elements work harmoniously with the ornate ceilings, decorative detailing and impressive proportions of the space, bringing a contemporary Italian essence while respecting the building’s original character.

Particular attention was given to the restaurant layout, maximising seating capacity while maintaining a comfortable, relaxed dining experience and practical circulation for staff and guests. Bespoke curved fixed seating was thoughtfully integrated into the space, creating intimate dining areas, defining zones and adding a striking contemporary contrast to the building’s traditional architecture.

The result is a vibrant yet elegant dining environment that celebrates the heritage of the building while capturing the warmth, character and sociable spirit of Italian dining. A thoughtfully designed space where architectural grandeur meets contemporary hospitality, creating a memorable experience for every guest.
