Upcycling with Grand Illusions
Team Gloss have been hard at the upcycling again!
First up is this unusual Chesterfield style Telephone Seat, which looked so sad and dull we just had to Upcycled it! We decided on a sympthetic ‘Aged French’ style to bring out those chesterfield style features. We used Grand Illusions Vintage Chalk Paint in Pastille and then worked all over with Brown Wax to create the aged look, finished by buffing to a shine to complete the classy look.
Next we saw this lonely and overlooked drinks trolley at an antiques warehouse and just had to bring it home for a spruce! We finished it in Grand Illusions Vintage Chalk Paint in Zinc Grey on legs and base with a light distressing, it was then sealed with the grand illusions matt sheen varnish. The top was sanded back and buffed in a brown tinted wax with a modern cup handle added to the drawer to finish the look. We thought it could be used for lots of purposes such as a side table or bedside, we were even happier when the customer purchased it to use as an actual drinks trolley!
Finally we have this very cute cupboard, previously brown and boring we have this beauty a fresh new look using Grand Illusions Vintage Chalk Paint in Linen, agin lightly distressed and sealed with the soft matt sheen varnish. Modern Cup handles have been added to the drawer fronts for a contemporary style.
